Adios, New Zealand

So I'm back in Manila and it's like I never left. Work is unremarkably the same.

New Zealand was beautiful, even though it was sometimes a little too quiet and peaceful for my taste. But who knows, I could get used to it eventually.

Strange thing about Christchurch (and Kiwis in general), is that there's a strange lack of smell. Maybe my daily Manila commute clogged my nose with pollution, but the city just didn't emit any sort of smell.

It was most disturbing standing at the edge of the ocean and smelling nothing. Weird.

Not that I'm complaining though...

Oh look, pictures!

Note the scarf I'm wearing is the one I knitted myself.

Taken at Lyttleton's hillside cemetery. Marc thought having a cemetery there was a waste of a good view. I disagree.

Watching "Black Sheep" did not deter me from getting close to this cutie.

These monks were figuring out the (highly effective) bus system. Since the temperature was at single digits that week, they were decked out in fleece jackets that matched their robes.

Obviously views from the hot air balloon.

Is that sign of a kid with a penguin for real? I'm assuming it was placed by a school of some sort? I don't really understand it ... but it's cute!

Why is the penguin so big? I agree that it's really cute. HEHE.

Welcome back!

It's a real sign! It was near the Antarctic Center hence the penguin.

Ric, I don't know why the penguin is so big, since the penguins native to NZ are the smallest in the world. (Blue penguins).
